The word Qi gong is made up of two Chinese words. Qi is usually translated to mean the life force that flows through all things in the universe.
The second word, Gong, means accomplishment, or the skill that is cultivated through practice. Together, Qi Gong is a system practiced for health maintenance, healing and increasing vitality.
In our practice, we work with each individual’s physical and emotional constitution. Breath is used as a guide, to correlate the internal world, with the environment around us.
Class begins with meridian stretches, so called “long-life exercices”, followed by careful step-by-step teaching of the individual movements. The tempo of the class is suited to beginners.
